What do I do with a God Encounter, Vision or Dream? (3min)

Have you experienced a God encounter, received a vision or a dream and you don’t fully understand it? God is inviting you to come closer to His heart as you steward His gift to you.

Why does God give you visions, dreams and encounters? It’s not for you to boast and put another notch in your belt. It is an invitation to learn more about God. He is watching to see what you will do with this opportunity to turn aside and press more into Jesus.
Every encounter is given to bring you closer to Jesus! It is to honor and bring glory to His name! God wants to give you encounters that will cause you to search deeper and know Him more. When Jesus was on the Earth, Jesus only spoke in parables to the multitudes.
The disciples came to him and asked, “Why do you speak to the people in parables?” He replied, “Because the knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them. Whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them. Matthew 13:10-12 NIV
He told His disciples that the mysteries of God are revealed to them, the sons of God. When His disciples were alone with Jesus, He explained all things to them.
After I have an encounter, I like to get alone with Jesus. I don’t have the full understanding of what I experienced, so I push into the Word. I search it out. I ask questions and seek the Lord. I spend time and press into Him. It’s kind of like hide-and-seek with God. You might have a dream and it has symbols. So I will look for those symbols in the Word of God. It’s very relational. I ask Him questions like: Does this dream have God’s presence in it? Do I sense it will bring me closer to Jesus? Check out this blog post on “How Do I Know a Dream is From God?”
All of these actions to understand the dream or encounter are actually getting our attention to bring us deeper into relationship with Him.

God wants us to learn how to steward relationship with Him. He also wants us to learn how to steward His voice, dreams, miracles and visitations.
“But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.” Hebrews 5:14
Notice the words “constant use” in the verse above. As we begin to use what has God has given to us, more will be given. If you have the gift of healing, start praying for more people! Activate that gift so more miracles can come. As you have encounters, dreams or visions, turn aside and seek the Lord and the scriptures to learn more about Jesus and what He is saying.
The more you steward what God has entrusted you with, the stronger your gift will grow. Your faith will also begin to grow more and more.
Keep it Simple…
Once you know that your encounter, dream or vision is from God, dive in deeper. The encounter is leading you straight to Jesus! Search it out in the scripture, fellowship with God and steward the gift He has given you. Accept His invitation to come closer to His heart. Then, as you use or release what God has given you as He says to, He will release more and more encounters.
