4 Ways to Keep Your Fire Burning (4min)

As we spend time with the God who IS fire, He sets us ON fire!
Ezekiel saw God as fire in Ezekiel 8:2 NIV:

If you want to keep your fire burning, be with the One who is fire. The more you spend time with Him, the more He rubs off on you and you become like Him.
Here are 4 ways to keep your fire burning:
1. Thank Him.
If you’re struggling to get into the presence just start to thank Him. It will clear the cobwebs and distractions of the day and get you into the Presence.
”Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.” Psalm 100:4 NIV
You enter the gates with thankfulness and praise will take you into the courts. Then, you’ll find yourself going deeper to what I like to call a posture of “face down.” This is that place where you are in the Presence enjoying the King. He wants you to thank Him, to praise Him and to wait in His presence and receive.
2. Worship Him.
The trumpeters and singers joined together to praise and thank the LORD with one voice. They lifted up their voices, accompanied by trumpets, cymbals, and musical instruments, in praise to the LORD: “For He is good; His loving devotion endures forever.” And the temple, the house of the LORD, was filled with a cloud.’ 2 Chronicles 5:13-14 NIV
One of the greatest keys to unlocking the manifest presence of God is worship. God is attracted to your praises. When you praise Him, He cannot help but come to you!
“Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.” James 4:8 NIV
If you want to keep the fire burning, worship Him with all of your heart and with all of your soul!
3. Meditate on the Word.
If you want to get more revelation out of the Word of God, become like the hummingbird. When that bird comes to the flower, they suck all of the nectar out. Hummingbirds are looking for the sweetness. You can’t get the sweetness of the Word if you are just blowing by reading chapter by chapter. When a verse sticks out to you, meditate, meditate, meditate. Think of it all throughout the day. Suck the nectar out until you get the fullness from it! For example, if I am meditating on Psalm 23, I will just take a small piece and think on it. “The Lord is my Shepherd. I shall not want. The Lord is my Shepherd. I shall not want.” I’ll soak it in until I get His heart and and burn with His revelation for that scripture.
4. Pray.
Keep the fire burning with prayer! The best prayers are praying back to God what He’s already said to you. You won’t know the will of God until you ask.

Whatever He tells you or shows you— use that as ammunition to pray. A lot of reasons people don’t live a life in the will of God is because they don’t take the time to seek God for what His will is. Get in prayer, see what He says and declare it!
