3 Keys to Walk in Perfect Peace (4min)

Article by Jerame Nelson

Jesus is the Prince of Peace! Peace is an anointing. It’s also a fruit of the spirit. We need to learn to renew our minds and realize that Jesus reigns. When you understand the position that God has given you in Christ, all of a sudden you begin to recognize that anxiety, fear and worry are not yours anymore.

Here are 3 keys to cultivate a lifestyle of perfect peace:

1. Fix your mind on Jesus.

Meditation releases revelation and revelation releases manifestation.

You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. Isaiah 26:3 NKJV

We need to learn how to wait on the Presence of the Lord and how to fix our mind on the things of God. Wherever we go, there are so many temptations, stimuli, ads, news and media fighting for our attention.

Develop a lifestyle where where you think about the Lord and mediate on Him all throughout the day. I like to call this “God Consciousness.” It’s a constant awareness of His goodness and His love for you. In this place, you know God’s presence is around you all the time. I tell people I’m either praying all the time or I’m not. I’m living a life where I’m conscious of God at all times. I’m not perfect at this, but I’m developing it.

Throughout my day, when I meet people, God will tell me secrets about them and I can give them keys and share His voice with them. Other times, God will tell me warnings about people. Why? I am constantly developing friendship with God. How? Isaiah 26:3. My mind is fixed on Jesus.

Make room for Him. You talk to your friends. God wants to speak to you and He wants you to speak to Him. When we automatically run to Him and keep our minds on Him, we will walk in His supernatural peace.

2. Make the Word of God the compass that guides your life.

I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. Psalm 119:11 NIV

When you know the Word of God, you’ll have peace to say “no” to things that other people are saying “yes” to. You will have peace about doing things that you are know are right because they line up with the Scriptures.

Great peace have those who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble. Psalm 119:165 NIV

Meditation on the word of God will release peace to you. Memorize the Word. Then, when you come into a situation where you don’t know what to do, the wisdom of God will rise up within you.

3. Pray.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7

Run to God first. If you want the peace that surpasses all understanding, you have to let go fo your understanding and go with God’s understanding. The more that you pray and the more that you intercede, the more you’ll walk in peace. As you live a lifestyle of prayer, you begin to walk in discernment. As soon as you get anxious or fearful, start praying. “Lord, I thank you for peace. You promise that You will never leave me or never forsake me. You said that You are with me.” When you start to pray scriptures like this, it will curb your anxieties. As you pray, the peace of God will empower you to overcome in every situation.

Keep it Simple…

The more that you spend time with Jesus, the more His peace will come. The King of Kings is the King of the Kingdom.

“For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit,” Romans 14:17

When you spend time with the Holy Ghost, He imparts peace, joy and righteousness!

Pray, stay in the Word and keep your eyes fixed on Jesus and watch fear and anxiety leave!
